Overview of Project

The Iowa DOT has an upcoming concrete overlay project on U.S. 30 between Jefferson and Grand Junction. The Buttrick Creek bridge on U.S. 30, 2.8 miles west of IA 144, is within the limits of the overlay project and is in need of replacement. To limit impacts to the traveling public, we will replace the existing bridge with a new 205’ x 44’ pretension prestressed concrete beam (PPCB) bridge while we have U.S. 30 closed for the overlay project.

During the bridge reconstruction and overlay projects on U.S. 30, traffic will be routed around the project area using a detour route. The signed detour route for U.S. 30 will utilize IA 4, County Road E26, and IA 144.
