City Council Meeting April 26, 2022
City Council Meeting April 26, 2022
Welcome to the April 26, 2022 Asheville City Council Meeting.
On April 26, City Council will meet in-person in the Banquet Hall at Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville, located at 87 Haywood Street, Asheville, N.C.
Persons wishing to speak live at the meeting will be required to attend in person, and are required to sign up at the door.
A Budget Worksession will precede the meeting at 2:30 p.m.
Parking Available in Civic Center Garage
If you are attending the City Council meeting and have parked in the Civic Center Parking Garage, free parking is available.
When you enter the garage, you will need to pull a ticket. When you either enter or leave the Council meeting, please ask the person at the sign-up desk (out in front of the Banquet Room) for the free parking sticker (barcode).
Once you get the "free barcode" you may wish to stick it on the back of the original ticket - so it's not so easy to get lost.
When you leave the Civic Center Parking Garage, you must first scan the barcode on the original ticket - then scan the barcode that you received at the Council meeting. The "second scan" will tell the fee computer to let you out for free.
Face Coverings in Public Spaces
Face coverings are no longer required in public indoor spaces. For City of Asheville buildings, we will no longer require face coverings. However, public health officials still strongly recommend wearing them especially in crowded indoor spaces.
To be clear, the public will no longer be required to wear face coverings in City of Asheville buildings but will be encouraged to wear them.
Presentations at the Meeting
For those wishing to make a slide or PowerPoint presentation at a formal meeting of City Council, the presentation must be submitted to Maggie Burleson at mburleson@ashevillenc.gov by Noon the day before the formal meeting.
