Project Overview
The Dix Edge Area Study will focus on housing, land use and development, and transportation in the communities surrounding Dorothea Dix Park. This study aims to understand what the community’s vision is for the area for the next 20 years. A community vision cannot be identified without help from community members. This means that everyone who lives, visits, works, studies, worships, and plays in the study area will play a role in the success of the study.
The end product of the Dix Edge Area Study is a plan that reflects the community vision. This plan will include policies and actions for housing, land use and development, and transportation. These policies and actions will guide City Council in making decisions. This includes rezoning decisions, changes to the development regulations, new capital projects such as roads, bike lanes, and new greenway connections.
