Cary's Traffic Calming Program is centered around quality of life in neighborhoods and, accordingly is focused on public streets with speed limits of 25mph or less and that are classified as Local Streets.  As this engagement hub intends to connect with stakeholders of all traffic calming projects, it includes projects on Local Streets and projects along segments of road that are classified as Collector Streets in the Cary Community Plan.

As Collector Street projects may impact significantly more citizens than those on Local Streets, Cary's engagement process may differ some from that prescribed for the Traffic Calming Program.  Any deviation is a results of staff's need to more efficiently engage the larger community and to ensure that all devices proposed on Collector Streets are appropriate in the context of the larger transportation network.

Projects on Collector Streets are identified in the project title(s) below.

PLEASE NOTE: the projects listed below are only those with an active survey or recent survey results.  For other projects, including the results of recent data collection, please navigate to the subsequent sections using the tabs above.

Data Collection Sites

These are neighborhoods/streets for which Cary has received an application for traffic calming from a member of the community.  Based on the results of the initial review by our Traffic Engineering staff, we are proceeding to the data collection process to measure speed and volume of vehicles.  This data will then be incorporated into a more detailed evaluation by Cary staff.  Results of the data collected will be presented to the community representative(s) (i.e. applicant) when available.
