Auburn-Opelika Metropolitan Planning Organization Policy Board
Auburn-Opelika Metropolitan Planning Organization Policy Board
The Auburn-Opelika Metropolitan Planning Organization (AOMPO) Policy Board is the decision-making body of the AOMPO. The Board is made up of elected officials and transportation representatives from the region.
The AOMPO brings together local leaders, transportation providers, and state partners to plan and prioritize transportation projects across the region. The Organization develops two key plans: a 25-year Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and a four-year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) that identifies projects eligible for funding. Working with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), the AOMPO helps guide how local, state, and federal transportation funds are invested in roads, transit, freight, and bicycle and pedestrian improvements in Auburn, Opelika, and parts of Lee County.
The Policy Board's decisions are informed by input and recommendations by the AOMPO Technical Advisory Committee and the AOMPO Citizen Advisory Committee.
Policy Board meetings are held quarterly at LRCOG and are open to the public.
