General Plan Update Public Review Survey #2
General Plan Update Public Review Survey #2
This is part two of a three-part survey to obtain your feedback on the Draft General Plan Update — particularly on the goals and policies. This survey provides an overview of the Housing, Open Space and Public Facilities sections of the Plan and asks for your input. Survey #1 previously covered Land Use, Focus Areas and Mobility. Survey #3 will address Resource Conservation, Safety and Noise. The Introduction tab for each survey provides additional detail on the Plan, along with the Vision, Values, and Big Ideas that are the foundation of the General Plan Update.
The survey is anonymous. If you need to take a pause between questions, feel free to close your browser. Your answers will be saved until you return to the survey. The survey will be available through July 18, 2021. Please note, there are other ways to both learn about and provide your thoughts on the Plan — go to www.cityofrc.us/GeneralPlan for details.

WHAT IS THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA GENERAL PLAN UPDATE?
INTRODUCTION
The Rancho Cucamonga General Plan Update is a blueprint for the future City of Rancho Cucamonga. The process for the Update involved extensive involvement by the community. Efforts prioritized determining values and ideas for the future of the City and there were many opportunities for participants to express their visions, collaborate with neighbors, and explore possible innovations in housing, transportation, recreation, and economic development throughout each planning phase.
The Rancho Cucamonga General Plan is separated into three volumes that are subsequently divided into topical chapters. The content of the chapters corresponds to the state requirements for the contents of a general plan. To review the General Plan in it's entirety, click here.
VISION
Our vision is to build on our success as a world class community, to create an equitable, sustainable, and vibrant city, rich in opportunity for all to thrive.
COMMUNITY VALUES
While people make up a city, it is only when people come together and become a community that cities achieve their full potential. It is no surprise, then, that a good plan is based on the foundational values of a community and takes input from the wide diversity of people, businesses, community groups, and other organizations that make up the totality of the community. These values are the pillars upon which the vision rests.
- Health | Make choices about our communities that shape the places where we live, work and play, and ultimately improve our chances for living long, healthy, fruitful lives.
- Equity | Craft a city that allows everyone to have a fair and just opportunity to thrive, regardless of factors such as race, zip code, gender, age, etc.
- Stewardship | Efficiently utilize our finite, non-renewable natural & financial resources and resiliently rebound from environmental, economic, and public health shocks.

IMPLEMENTATION
Accompanying the contents of this document is an Implementation Strategy for the General Plan under a separate cover. As many of the policies in the General Plan can be implemented in a variety of ways, the implementation strategy allows for flexibility and creativity in achieving the vision. It is expected that implementation strategy will be updated more often than the General Plan. You can view the Implementation Strategy here.
