Overview

Purpose

A Small Area Mobility Plan (SAMP) is designed to provide a localized, community-driven transportation strategy that improves mobility, safety, and accessibility in a specific neighborhood, district, or major corridor. The I-35 Central Small Area Mobility Plan will identify transportation needs, gaps, and opportunities within the community and develop actionable solutions that align with citywide transportation goals, such as those outlined in the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan (ASMP).

Goals

  1. Translate community members' accessible mobility concerns into projects and solutions
  2. Leverage relationships with partner organizations to provide coordination with surrounding projects
  3. Build durable support for implementation
  4. Develop creative solutions to the community's needs
  5. Prioritize projects creatively and nimbly for the community

Planning Boundary

The planning boundary covers the neighborhoods surrounding I-35 between 51st Street and Lady Bird Lake.

Planning boundaries centralized to downtown Austin to 51st Street.
