Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
FY 2025-2028
The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is the regionally agreed-upon list of priority transportation projects to be implemented over a four-year period, as required by Federal law (most recently the FAST Act). The TIP document must list all projects that intend to use federal funds, along with all non-federally funded projects that are regionally significant such as those funded by Turnpike revenues. The projects are multi-modal; that is, they include bicycle, pedestrian, ITS, and freight related projects, as well as the more traditional highway and public transit projects.
Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP)
FY 2025-2050
The Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) is the foundational plan the MPO, as required by federal law (most recently the FAST Act). The LRTP is a guiding document containing publicly identified transportation needs, goals, projects, as well as an inventory of transportation system performance and transportation infrastructure assets. The document must be consistent with the TIP and is updated every 5 years at minimum. The TIP serves as the first four years of programmed projects in the LRTP. The remaining projects in the LRTP are from the Ten Year Plan (TYP) or are currently unfunded but identified as a regional need (Illustrative projects.)
Thank you to the 296 community participants who took the time to complete our survey in 2024 as part of the Long Range Transportation Plan update! The surveys are now closed, and RPC staff have analyzed the results and identified key themes. The stories received is incorporated in the Plan and a Public Involvement Summary will be available in the coming days.
If you have additional comments or input that you would like to be captured in our upcoming transportation planning work, please email mjerominek@therpc.org.
