By incorporating nature play we aim to foster a deeper appreciation for the environment and create meaningful, enjoyable play experiences for children of all ages. Through the introduction of nature play we hope to align with the context/setting of the park, honoring the natural feel of the space while providing new and interesting features for everyone to enjoy in the park.

The design team is exploring ideas to enhance the connection to nature and the unique character of the pecan grove. One possibility is a pecan shelling station. We'd love your feedback on this idea or suggestions for other features that celebrate the grove's sense of place.

Love the pecan shelling station. Also maybe an informative plaque about the pecan shellers strike? It was in San Antonio, but I feel like the pecan grove is a nice place to talk about the history of pecan agriculture and activism in the state.
