Need to manage wildlife for all of the population of the state not just hunters who are only 5% of the total population but dominate wildlife decisions.

Agree with all but eliminating the special draw for the 1040

Where is the proposal to legalize the use of dogs to locate downed game??? And what about the deadhead law? It is rendered pointless after the salvage law changes

I would like to share my opinion on the current proposals for hunting rules. I believe the current survey is very poorly put together with so many changes lumped in to a single agree/disagree question. While i can see why it was done
that way (items in the same WAC?) there are just too many lumped together and there is a very high likelihood that someone could agree with some of the points while disagreeing with other points. In order to get true opinions on specific proposals there should
be much more granularity in the survey.

I also believe some of the summaries are misleading in an effort to drive the answers. Take for example the whitetail antlerless reduction proposal said that some of the opportunity would be returned in antlerless permits. Them digging
into the permit numbers they list a reduction from 150 to 5 or 350 to 5 permits. The summaries should have said that antlerless would be mostly eliminated.

There should be a genuine effort to portray the proposals in truth and not mislead to drive the answers.

Thank you for your time,

I recently saw the proposals for management of whitetail removing the harvest of antler-less deer for archery season. As well as the mule deer.

I would like to suggest the thought of making archery season a 2 point minimum to make up for the loss of opportunity. In those two areas I know of I have noticed more and more super twos in the area. Deer of the age of 4-5 years old
who are not developing more than two points.

I believe if you opened archery to a 2 point minimum in the proposed GMUs for antlerless removal this would be a good way to make up for the lost opportunity. It would also be beneficial for removal of some of the super twos so that
the genetic doesn’t continue to carry on causing future problems.

For over 20 years I have been auditing the data sheets for special Deer and Elk permits. The permit numbers are derived by using the resource allocation formula, adopted at the commission meeting in 1998. The numbers
that are recommended by WDFW, for these special 2021 season hunts, are correct using the allocation formula. I recommend adoption.

Please don\'t shorten the late deer season in District 1! As a father to a 9yr old daughter who busted her butt last year to complete hunter safety in order to enjoy time learning the importance of conservation
and developing her hunting skills and respect to the animals this decision will hinder her ability to do so

Deer Regulations: Support Proposals

Issue 1: Support Whitetail deer APR in GMU’s 101, 105, 108, 111, 113, 117, 121

Alternative #3 - 3 point minimum. Make these GMU’s match the regulation to the south. It does not make sense to complicate the matter further.

Issue 2: Support reduction of harvest of at risk whitetail does.

Let the science inform the policy.

Issue 3: Support reduction of harvest of at risk mule deer does.

Let the science inform the policy.

Issue 4: Support reducing antlerless white-tailed deer harvest in GMU 124.

Remove archery and muzzleloader general seasons.

Issue 6: Support opening GMU’s 247, 254, 262, 266, 269 to early general muzzleloader season.
Issue 7: Support eliminating all harvest of at risk mule deer in the East Columbia Gorge Mule Deer MZ.
Issue 8: Support opportunity to increase Black-tailed deer population on Puget Sound Islands.
Issue 10: Support elimination of deer area 1040.

Deer Regulations: OPPOSE Proposals

Issue 5: Oppose elimination of deer area 1021.

Make this a permit application and keep making revenue on a limited use opportunity with very low impact to a large mule deer population.

I only disagree with elimination of the 1040 area. More comments on the elk area.

There is no reason to not have state land that offers a quality hunting experience. Increasing the tag numbers in the special draw would be a much better option than opening the wildlife area completely for deer and elk hunting. Your justification for opening the 4 0 really doesn't hold any ground as the tribal season goes for months where yours is only a week.
