Both the land use and density are appropriate for this site.
ReplyAgreeone year ago
The site could take additional density. Assuming it is not being sought due to cost?
ReplyAgreeone year ago
The land use and density are completely appropriate. I'm actually surprised the County did not want the building to be larger since it will contribute to housing near several major bus lines.

I like the mixed use approach. Density is good -- the more the better.

Setting the building so far back from Glebe Road unfortunately emphasizes the automobile focused Glebe Road. Buildings in urban context should directly front the street with any surface parking on the side or behind it or better yet below the building. Also the building has a lot of pavement and is frankly entirely too auto focused.

OK with placement and layout. As vehicles get backed up at the site now awaiting opportunity to donate, there will need to be careful coordination to ensure the circulation lane will actually circulate

The site plan is entirely appropriate for an urban site such as this one. The fact that this building is including a childcare facility should be applauded. Childcare in this county is severely limited and this facility will provide a desperately needed service to the working families that live in our community.

Please prioritize pedestrian safety.

How does one get to the childcare facility on foot? It seems too auto oriented.

I feel all of this is appropriate and support this development.

The supporting materials do not include an assessment from the Fire Department. Staff should not approve the plan without a review by AFD.

Seems appropriate.

The height is appropriate. The architecture is a bit busy but not offensive.

OK with height. Could be higher but, per earlier comment, assume this is cost-related. While the nod to Goodwill logo via the blue cement tiles is nice, the look of the building (as proposed) already looks outdated and possibly low-cost. Please give some thought to how to 'warm' up design/look to make it look more expensive/higher quality and add some green/biophilia

Entirely appropriate. The building looks wonderful and will be a great addition to the community.
ReplyAgreeone year ago
The height is good. I think you could even go higher.

Already stated.

No concerns. Vehicular movements are well designed and thoughtful, providing excellent circulation to parking, drop off and entry/exit to Glebe.
ReplyAgreeone year ago
I have no concerns.
