4th Annual Eastside Intergovernmental Summit and Resource Fair

Please join elected representatives from the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners, Charlotte City Council, and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education for the 4th Annual Intergovernmental Summit for East Charlotte residents. This  event will be hosted by:

  • MARK JERRELL, Chair, Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners, District 4
  • DANTÉ ANDERSON, Councilwoman, City of Charlotte, District 1
  • STEPHANIE SNEED, Chair, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education, District 4

The Summit will focus on the E.A.S.T. joint priorities: *Education *Affordable Housing *Support Services and *Transportation. The event will feature a panel discussion. Panelists include:

  • MIKE BRYANT, County Manager, Mecklenburg County
  • MARCUS JONES, City Manager, City of Charlotte
  • DR. CRYSTAL HILL, Superintendent, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools
  • STELLA PATTERSON, Chief, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department
  • GARRY MCFADDEN, Sheriff, Mecklenburg County
Please lend your voice by helping to set priorities for Charlotte's Eastside.  Resource tables will be on hand to share information with the public from 9am-1pm.
Registration is encouraged as seating may be limited.

Celebrate the stories, traditions, and connections that make every family unique. Join District 2 Commissioner Vilma D. Leake on April 30 for a joyful gathering that brings older adults, families, and friends together to honor the past and inspire the future.

  • Celebrate family and community with Mecklenburg County’s MeckRoots program

  • Bring a family member or friend to share in the experience

  • Share your story by bringing a family photo — past or present 

  • Enjoy a boxed lunch, provided for all registered attendees

  • Connect across generations through memories, storytelling, and shared history

Join us as we honor the legacy of our community and celebrate the stories that continue to shape who we are.

Please kindly register for catering and space planning purposes no later than April  24, 2026.  The event will be at the Valerie C. Woodard Center (please enter via the "E" door).  Doors open at 9:45 a.m.

Community Meeting - Helping Seniors Navigate Federal Changes Hosted by Commissioner Vilma D. Leake

Mecklenburg County Commissioner Vilma D. Leake, District 2, invites residents to join her for a community meeting on Thursday, February 5, from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. (doors open at 1:00 p.m.). This gathering will highlight important updates on federal changes affecting local seniors and share how the County is working to provide continued support. The event will be at the Valerie C. Woodard Center (please enter via entrance "E").  

Residents interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP on this site by Monday, February 2, 2026.

Arthur Griffin, County Commissioner at Large, and members of the Davidson Board of Commissioners invite interested members of the public to this Community Meeting.  The meeting's featured topic is County Veterans' Services.  Doors open at 5:30pm.  The meeting will be from 6:00 - 7:00pm and include presentations.  Meeting objectives include informing residents about services provided by the County and our partner Veterans Bridge Home.
