We Need Your Input - Lockwood-Dignowity Park
The City of San Antonio sought your input to help us enhance and improve your park space. $4.1 million plus $1.9 million in combined project funding for Lockwood-Dignowity Park (located at 801 N. Olive St./701 Nolan St.) in Council District 2. Funds were allocated to develop two existing park spaces into one combined/composite park space, as well as add/incorporate multiple new park space improvements, including addition of: 1) a park playground, 2) a new stand-alone unisex restroom, 3) new park walkways, 4) new park security lighting and picnic areas, 5) new central plaza with seating, 6) new dog park space, 7) renovated Harmony Plaza, 8) improved flexible-use lawn with electrical power for events, 9) surrounding street lane reductions and addition of parallel parking lanes, 10) new curbing/landscaping and street markings, 11) custom slide tower and 12) additional stand-alone unisex restroom. Funding was allocated through the voter-approved 2017-2022 Bond Program and Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ). We collected more information from District 2 residents and park users across the city to see which additional/optional amenities they recommended for inclusion in the proposed park design, as well as what future park improvements the City should invest in for the park space if/when future capital project funding becomes available.
