Traditionally, when thinking of Public Safety, the definition includes the protection of the community from crime, natural disasters and adversely challenging conditions.
Usually government enforcement agencies such as police, fire and emergency response teams are on hand and responsible to ensure and maintain public safety. Public Safety can also mean the ability to be in your community without fear of threat of injury. Public Safety ensures that you, your family, friends and neighbors can, live, work, worship, play, shop, travel and thrive in your community. Public Safety is a feeling as well as a state of being.
