The City of Concord Parks and Recreation Department is seeking public input to help guide the development of the City's first park in the Northwest Region of Concord. Your input will inform us on the parks and recreation programming priorities for the park facility and will be used in conjunction with information from the technical team, community input and Concord Parks and Recreation Department staff to develop a plan for the site.  This survey will take about 10 minutes to complete.

Please complete this survey by Sunday October 18, 2020 to help us work together in building a park which will benefit our entire community.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Development of a Community Park in the Northwest Region of Concord is a City Council goal, and top priority of the Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The City has partnered with Woolpert’s Charlotte office, who specializes in park planning and design, to prepare concepts and a final master plan for the property. The first step in the development of this park is to engage with members of the community through strong public participation.

Your feedback will help inform the development of a park plan which may include a broad range of amenities and services to potentially offer to the citizens at this park location.

ABOUT THE PARK SITE

The park site is located at 1252 Cox Mill Road, directly north of Cox Mill Elementary School, and across the street from Cox Mill High School. The total site is about 28 acres, 16 of which can be developed with active park amenities, and 12 acres within the floodplain can be developed with more passive recreation amenities, such as greenways and trails.
