Overview
This Jacksonville Transit Authority (JTA) First Coast Rail Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) project is planning for transit-oriented development along the proposed First Coast Rail (FCR) corridor, which is the 38.4-mile commuter rail corridor of the Florida East Coast (FEC) Railway extending from downtown Jacksonville to south of St. Augustine.
Key objectives for the study are to:
- Identify potential for economic investment and opportunity around station areas; and
- Create a more sustainable and resilient multimodal transportation network for Northeast Florida.

Transit-oriented development (TOD) clusters mixed-use development - multi-family housing, shopping, recreation and businesses - around a transit station, creating a more walkable, bikeable, convenient and sustainable place to live, work and shop.
