The City will be making improvements to Heartside Park and Pekich Park in Fall 2021 using funding from the Parks Millage. We use these funds to make physical improvements and repairs to parks and playgrounds.

Project Background

The Heartside Quality of Life Study was an initiative led by residents and the City in 2017. It identified opportunities to improve the quality of life for ALL who live, work and play in Heartside. We are using the Heartside Quality of Life Study as a starting point and a framework for understanding how park improvements can support overall neighborhood wellbeing.

We want to build upon the recommendations and engagement that has already taken place while giving neighbors the opportunity to voice current concerns and new ideas for Heartside Park and Pekich Park.

We want to hear from you!

Your comments and priorities from the Phase I survey (Fall 2020) were used to create a proposed plan for improvements.

In this survey, you will be asked to:

  1. Review the concept plans
  2. Rank your priorities for improvements
  3. Provide additional comments.

Additional opportunities for input on April 20:

Neighbors are also invited to share feedback on these park improvements at the Heartside Downtown Neighborhood Association virtual potluck on Tuesday, April 20th at 6:00 pm. At this event, you will have the opportunity to discuss the project with neighbors and ask questions to the project team. Email info.hdna@gmail.com or parksandrec@grcity.us for more information.
