District 2 Senior Center and Conceptual Master Plan

Project Background:

The City of San Antonio purchased 12.21 acres of land at 4911 Lord Ro
ad on May 9, 2024. City Council approved funding with the Inner City Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) Board to support design work for a new District 2 Senior Center and master plan for the development in the surrounding area.

This conceptual master plan includes a new Senior Center, improvements to nearby Copernicus Park, and affordable housing for seniors.

The project is design only and the scope of work includes two items:

  • Item 1 – Programming and design of a 30,000 sq. ft. Senior Center and associated parking.
  • Item 2 – Conceptual master planning for the site, which includes Copernicus Park, the new D2 Senior Center, and affordable senior housing.
