City Council Meeting December 5, 2025 - VIRTUAL

A special virtual meeting will be held by the Asheville City Council on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

The purpose of the special meeting will be to conduct a closed session and consider the appointment of public officers.

City Council will immediately go into closed session and adjourn the closed session at 9:30 a.m.

At 9:30 a.m. City Council will then return to open session to (1) consider the appointment of an interim City Manager effective December 6, 2025, to serve until such time as the full time City Manager begins employment; and (2) appoint a new City Manager effective January 12, 2026.

How to Participate Remotely

To accommodate those who do not yet feel secure attending in person, or those whose are precluded from attending because of schedules or other personal factors, City Council will continue to engage with those members of our community using the following options for participation:

The live meeting will be streamed on the City's YouTube Channel which can be accessed through the YouTube icon on the front page of the City's website or via the livestream at the bottom of this page.
