Next Milestone: Design Phase

Background

This project will install a continuous sidewalk on the north end of London Road from Belvedere Road to Sweeten Creek Road, improving connectivity between the residential Shiloh area and the commercial and industrial areas on Sweeten Creek Road and in Biltmore Village. The purpose of this project is to improve mobility, safety, and continuity for pedestrians on City streets and provide pedestrian connections to important commercial and public amenities.

The project also includes curb ramps, crosswalks, accessible bus boarding areas, and stormwater infrastructure upgrades.

Frequently Asked Questions

This project is funded by the voter-approved 2024 General Obligation Bond referendum.

The City recognizes an opportunity to improve safety on London Road in its entire length. At this time, there is no funding allocated for future phases. Starting at the north end of the road allows for continuous pedestrian connection. The City appreciates any feedback from the community on potential future improvements southward on London Road.
