Silver Line Value Engineering – Public Comment Card
Please review the project information provided below regarding the CATS Silver Line Value Engineering effort.
In November 2025, Mecklenburg County voters passed the P.A.V.E. Act, introducing a new transportation funding model for Mecklenburg County. Under this act, CATS is conducting a value engineering study to find ways to explore ways to save money on the approved Silver Line alignment to enable a potential extension farther east to serve more communities.
The review includes evaluating the following changes in project design and possible station removals:
- Consolidate Remount and Berryhill stations
- Remove Summit station
- Shift alignment north of 11th Street near Blue Line
- Remove First Ward station
- Shift alignment to front side of Bojangles Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium
The project materials linked below describe potential strategies currently being evaluated as part of this effort. Join the upcoming virtual meeting on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 6 p.m. by watching on the CATS YouTube channel.
