Buchanan Avenue Reconstruction

In 2014, Grand Rapids voters established the Vital Streets fund. This fund dedicates its focus to improving our street conditions. The Buchanan Avenue project is funded by Vital Streets. There will be two phases of construction. Phase 1 is expected to begin in September and last through November 2026. Phase 2 will begin in spring 2027.

Buchanan Avenue (Corinne to Hall)

Construction is expected to start in September.

This is a reconstruction project. Contractors will replace the road and upgrade what is listed below:

Driveway approaches and sidewalks
Water
Parkways and street trees
Storm sewer
