Streambank Planting at Durant Nature Preserve
Join Stormwater staff and NC State Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering extension specialists to help repair a stream bank at Durant Nature Preserve. Volunteers will help reestablish a healthy stream buffer along Simm's Branch by planting native plants along the bank. Native plants help prevent soil erosion and increase flood resiliency. This is a hands-on activity; volunteers will use small hand tools to cut, dig, and plant.
*All supplies will be provided. Please just come with boots/closed-toed shoes that can get wet and muddy.
*Volunteers must be 14 years or older to participate. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
*Each volunteer must individually register for the event. Registration is required.
