Colonel Francis J. Beatty Park Improvements
Colonel Francis J. Beatty Park Improvements
The Colonel Francis J. Beatty Park Project will make improvements to the baseball complex of the existing park located at 4330 Weddington Rd, Matthews, NC. The park currently has soccer fields, playgrounds, trails, picnic shelters, indoor pavilion, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, parking, and restrooms. Improvements include adding a new baseball field, and adding lighting, turf and irrigation to the baseball complex.
In Fiscal Years 2025 and 2026, additional funding has been allocated to add new pickleball courts and bicycle and pedestrian connections to Colonel Francis J. Beatty Park. The scope of this project may also include repairs/expansion of existing paved trails, wayfinding, and/or improvements to the parking area and restroom.
