This request would allow for increased entitlement for residential, office, retail, and industrial uses, or combinations thereof. Proposed conditions would prohibit various uses otherwise permitted in IX, including some Public & Institutional, Commercial, and Industrial uses. The rezoning site is also known as the Randleigh tract. The property is jointly owned by Wake County and the City of Raleigh and subject to an interlocal agreement. Wake County is proposing the rezoning to accommodate a county animal shelter.
