What you need to know:

Starting as early as Tuesday, August 4, 2026, E-Z Bel Construction will begin roadway reconstruction on the east side of the Babcock Road and UTSA Boulevard intersection. This major construction work is expected to last through late August 2026.

 

Traffic, Detours & Safety

  • East side of the intersection at Babcock Rd. and UTSA Blvd. will be fully closed for roadway reconstruction throughout August 2026.
  • Babcock Road will remain open to two-way traffic throughout construction.
  • UTSA Boulevard eastbound and westbound traffic will be fully detoured through Roadrunner Way and Hausman Rd.
  • The Maverick Creek Parking Lot will be closed for one week
  • Pedestrian Detour: The east-west crossing at Babcock Road and UTSA Boulevard will be closed. Pedestrians must detour to Hausman Road, then use the Maverick Creek Greenway to reach UTSA Boulevard east of Babcock Road.
  • Property access to surrounding neighborhoods, businesses, schools, and the UTSA campus will remain open at all times.
  • Emergency vehicles will have full access.
  • Parking is strictly prohibited inside the active construction zone.
  • Safety & Signage: Motorists must follow reduced speed limits, traffic signals, and portable message boards to navigate the work zone safely.
