Saint Mary's Street Bikeway Project - Resurfacing
Saint Mary's Street Bikeway Project - Resurfacing
The Engagement and Design Meeting is the second step in a three-step process for streets to recieve bikeway improvements through annual street resurfacing. Saint Mary's Street has been identified for resurfacing by the City of Raleigh's Transportation Department.
The 2016 BikeRaleigh Plan recommends bike lanes for Saint Mary's Street. Due to existing street characteristics, a northbound buffered bike lane is being proposed on the east side of Saint Mary's Street between Brooklyn Street and north of Nichols Drive. A southbound buffered bike lane is being proposed between the southern driveway entrance to Broughton High School and north of Nichols Drive. This bikeway will connect into an existing neighbhorhood bikeway on Saint Mary's Street north of Wade Avenue, and a future neighborhood bikeway on N. Boylan Avenue and Brooklyn Street. The proposed design would maintain all existing on-street parking spaces on the east side of Saint Mary's Street between Peace Street and Brooklyn Street.
We are seeking feedback on the design proposed below on Saint Mary's Street between Peace Street - Brooklyn Street, and between Brooklyn Street - Nichols Drive. Please review the design concepts and complete the survey on this page.
The survey will close on March 25, 2024.
