View the CR-102 Rule Proposal

This rule proposal began as a petition before the Fish and Wildlife Commission. The Commission approved the rule petition at their December 14-16, 2023 meeting. The rule proposal is intended to increase angler opportunity on Deer Lake in Stevens County. However, increasing the length of the recreational fishing season on Deer Lake could pose a risk to the trophy Lake Trout fishery. Rules to be considered include changing Deer Lake from the current March 1st to November 30th fishing season to a year-round fishing season and a Lake Trout daily limit of 5 fish with no more than one greater than 30 inches in length.
