The Town of Zebulon is excited to present the FY 2025 Recommended Budget to the public!

On Thursday, May 9, 2024, the FY 2025 Recommended Budget was presented to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners, detailing recommended fiscal allocations as the Town looks to address the priorities and needs of our constituents in the coming fiscal year. A series of budget meetings were held in the month of May and will continue to be held in June where specific details of the budget will be broken down and discussed for the Mayor, Board of Commissioners, and the community at large. On Monday, June 3, 2024, the Town held a public hearing on the budget, designed to solicit thoughts, opinions, and feedback from Zebulon citizens and constituents.

On Tuesday, June 18, the Town will hold a public hearing on the bond referendums, designed to hear feedback from Zebulon citizens on a potential bond that Board of Commissioners may adopt to be voted on by the Zebulon citizens on the November ballot.

You can find recordings from the initial meetings below and this page will be updated with the latest meeting recordings regularly.

Budget Meetings and Topics Presented:

The Budget Ordinance is arguably the most important policy document the Board of Commissioners adopts. In short, the Budget Ordinance funds the priorities, needs, and values of the Town of Zebulon in Fiscal Year 2025 and beyond. The Budget Ordinance will address current needs of the Town while investing in the future, helping shape what Zebulon looks like for years to come.

We invite the community to provide comments and feedback on the recommended budget during the budgetary process. Community feedback is vital to crafting the FY 2025 Budget as the Mayor, Board of Commissioners, and Town staff discuss and refine the budget. Submitted comments will be included as part of the June 3 Public Hearing. Your input, feedback, and voice play an essential role in this process and we encourage you to make that voice heard.
