French Broad Riverfront Parks Recovery: Phase 2 Survey
French Broad Riverfront Parks Recovery: Phase 2 Survey
The City of Asheville is rebuilding and strengthening riverfront parks along the French Broad River following damage from Tropical Storm Helene.
This survey is open until March 16 and focuses on early design concepts based on themes that emerged from feedback received in late 2025 (View Engagement Summary). These are not final plans. We will combine features from the themed design concepts to create one recommended design for each park.
Your feedback will help shape what moves forward.
What this survey will help us decide
We are asking for input on:
- How the river edge should be rebuilt
- The balance between nature, recreation, community, and art
- Which programs and amenities are most preferred
- Where river access is most preferred
- Long-term connectivity goals
We are not asking you to choose a single concept. Instead, tell us which features from each themed concept are most preferred.
Section 1: The Big Picture
Section 2: Early Themed Concepts
These three early concepts explore different directions the rebuilt parks could take. We will mix and refine features from all of them for the final design.
