Eastern Henrico Transmission Line
Eastern Henrico Transmission Line
Henrico County is constructing the Eastern Henrico Transmission Line, a new transmission line that will allow water to move quickly and efficiently from the Water Treatment Facility on Three Chopt Road to water customers in central and eastern Henrico. This resiliency measure will ensure Henrico's ability to service all residents in case of emergency.
What's happening now?
- Design: Engineers are about halfway through design, and the plans will go to the county for review.
- Richmond Henrico Turnpike: Public Works is currently working on an improvement project for the Richmond-Henrico Turnpike. To avoid digging up the road twice, Public Utilities collaborated with Works to go ahead and install about one mile of the new water line during the improvement project. The rest of the project is still in design.
Area map
The new transmission line starts near Lydell Drive, between East Parham and Woodman roads, connecting to an existing main fed from the county's plant on Three Chopt Road. It runs east toward Charles City Road. The exact route of the main is still under design.
