Environmental & Energy Stewardship Subcommittee (EESS)
To provide recommendations for action to the Board of Commissioners, the Environmental and Energy Stewardship Subcommittee is authorized to examine opportunities for environmental and energy stewardship. Through thoughtful discussion and advisement from community and staff experts, the Subcommittee recommends County-wide goals, establishes workplans, and tracks progress in areas of land conservation, renewable energy, and water quality. The Subcommittee considers additional opportunities in the areas of: conservation easement strategies, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy development and access, preservation of farmlands and natural resources, solid waste management and recycling, air and water quality, and green building.
