Greenlink - 2024 Trolley Route Proposed Changes
Greenlink - 2024 Trolley Route Proposed Changes
Purpose
The city’s continued growth drives the need to change the downtown trolley service. Greenlink staff used trolley ride data to make informed recommendations for two changes to improve service. Additionally, the elimination of parking availability at County Square created the need to develop a “park and ride” approach for visitors to the West End.
Greenlink proposes:
- Changes to Route 905: Game Day, to better serve fans attending baseball games at Fluor Field. A new game-day route would connect to public parking lots, with service to Fluor Field every 10 - 15 minutes.
- Restructuring the trolley routes that service Main Street and West Greenville will provide more frequent service that is easier to access. The proposed new service would focus on connecting major points of interest, such as West Greenville, Unity Park, The Children’s Museum of the Upstate, as well as a variety of restaurants. The result would be one trolley route for downtown, providing service every 10 - 15 minutes.
What May Change?
Greenlink proposes eliminating Route 901: North Main and Route 906: Lunch Link, and combining Route 902: South Main with Route 903: West End, to provide service to South Main Street, the West End, West Greenville and Unity Park. Changes to Route 905: Game Day would serve public parking lots located throughout downtown Greenville.
