In 2014, Grand Rapids voters established the Vital Streets fund. This fund dedicates its focus to improving our street conditions. The Division Avenue project from Detroit to Burton is funded by Vital Streets. This project is expected to begin in 2027.
About the project
Division Avenue (Detroit to Burton)
Construction is expected to start in 2027.
This is a resurfacing project. Contractors will replace the road and upgrade what is listed below:
- Lead water service line replacements
- Wider sidewalks to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act standards
- Driveway approaches
- Parkways and street trees
- Parking changes
