Sugar Creek Greenway: Yorkmont to McDowell Farms
This ~3 mile section of trail is the first funded phase of Sugar Creek Greenway and will connect Yorkmont Road to McDowell Farms Drive. This project is currently under construction and will provide a public parking area on South Tryon Street and numerous pedestrian connections to neighborhoods along the corridor, including Coliseum Centre Dr, Arbor Loop Dr, Memorial Pkwy, Apex Landing Way, Center Park Dr, S Tryon St, Mounting Rock Rd, and Edgegreen Dr.

Construction Updates:
- September 2025 Update: The contractor will begin working near S. Tryon Street, McDowell Farms Drive, and Center Park Drive in September.
- August 2025 Update: The contractor is currently working in the area of Tyvola Road and Harry L. Jones Golf Course.
- March 2025 Update: The design for the greenway trail is complete, and the project has been bid. Construction began in May 2025 and should be complete in mid-2027. Check back for project updates regarding the construction schedule.
