GVL2040 Public Survey
The City of Greenville is working on its five-year update to the GVL2040 Comprehensive Plan, originally adopted by City Council in early 2021. The plan focuses on key priorities including affordable housing, open space and environmental sustainability and improved transportation and mobility. It also emphasizes the critical role of economic development in driving future investment and sustaining a high quality of life for all residents.
About the GVL2040 Comprehensive Plan Five-Year Update
South Carolina requires communities to complete a major update of their comprehensive plans every 10 years, with a minor update every five years. Since this is a minor update, the core goals and overall framework of GVL2040 will remain the same. This update will focus on the following objectives:
- Assess progress in achieving goals: Review the City’s progress on GVL2040’s goals and action items.
- Refresh key data: Ensure the demographic, economic and environmental data are current and accurate.
- Add a resilience element: Incorporate a newly-required section on the City’s ability to recover after major storms, flooding or other disruptions.
- Create a five-year action plan: Outline priorities and next steps for implementation.
Your input is essential as we develop this plan. Please take some time to complete the following survey. Your responses will help the City shape the action plan for the next five years.
