Major Pavement Rehabilitation Program
Major Pavement Rehabilitation Program
The City of Chula Vista Engineering Department is upgrading your streets.
The City of Chula Vista is launching a major citywide pavement rehabilitation program to make our neighborhood streets smoother, safer, and more accessible. Funded by TransNet and Gas Tax investments, this multi-year project will repair and upgrade roadways across the city through late spring 2027.
Summary
Starting as soon as late September, construction crews will begin our annual Pavement Rehabilitation Project to fix broken asphalt, repair sidewalks, and make your neighborhood streets safer.
To get our roads in top shape, you will see construction crews performing:
- Slurry Seal & Crack Repair
Applying pavement preservation treatments on selected streets to extend the life of the roadway. - Paving & Roadway Repairs
Removing damaged pavement, and placing new asphalt to provide a long-lasting roadway surface. - Sidewalk, Curb & ADA Improvements
Repairing concrete, curb and gutter, and upgrading pedestrian ramps for accessibility. - Traffic Signal Improvements
Replacing or adjusting vehicle detection loops, pedestrian push buttons, and other signal-related equipment where needed. - Utility Adjustments
Adjusting manholes and other existing facilities to match the finished roadway surface.

Streets will remain open for local residents, but lanes will be narrowed. Please use alternate routes when possible. - Drive Slowly
