Draft Forage Fish Management Policy
Draft Forage Fish Management Policy
The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission is currently considering revisions to its Forage Fish Management Policy (C-3012), which was adopted in 1998 and provides guidance to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) to maintain healthy populations of forage fish species and individual stocks of forage fish while assuring the integrity of ecosystems and habitats. The Commission has hosted several discussions on possible revisions to the policy (see past Commission meetings) and the final draft of the policy is now available for public review. Comment is open through Aug. 7.
The Commission is further expected to discuss the draft policy and possible adoption at its August meeting.
