You're Invited to Historic Bookmarks - The Official Book Club of Mecklenburg County Historic Landmarks
Join Stewart Gray, director of Mecklenburg County’s Historic Landmarks Department, for a discussion of Like a Family, a detailed oral history exploring the lives of Southern cotton mill workers in the 1920s and 1930s. The book, drawing on hundreds of interviews, examines the industry that fueled Charlotte's rapid growth.
While reading the book is strongly encouraged, it is not necessary for attendance. All those interested in Mecklenburg County history are invited to attend!
Parking: Parking is available at Heist Brewery, 2909 N. Davidson Street, Charlotte.
Heist Brewery was once part of Highland Park Mill #3, a designated historic landmark that is featured throughout Like a Family.
