Project Limits

The Gattis School Road Segment 2 is one of several segments planned along the Gattis School Road corridor. This segment in particular focuses on Lawnmont Drive to Windy Park Drive (in green below).

Why is the Project Needed?

The Gattis School Road Segment 2 project is needed to address the following issues:
  • Safety: The project aims to enhance road safety by adding lanes, improving intersections, and creating safer routes for pedestrians and cyclists.
  • Traffic Congestion: As the area has grown, Gattis School Road has become a critical east-west connector. The existing road infrastructure is not equipped to handle current and projected traffic volumes.

Key Elements of the Project

  1. Widening the Road: The project includes expanding the road to five lanes, including two lanes in each direction and a continuous left turn lane down the middle.
  2. Improved Pedestrian and Cyclist Access: A 10-foot shared use path will also be part of the expansion to provide safer travel for non-motorized users.
