Help Shape Austin’s Energy Future – Provide Your Feedback on Austin Energy's Reliability Planning
The Austin City Council has unanimously approved Austin Energy’s Resource, Generation and Climate Protection Plan to 2035, which is a strategic pathway to meet Austin’s rising energy needs. This plan was drafted with strong community input and is guided by the core values of reliability, affordability, environmental sustainability, and energy equity. Austin Energy is evaluating options to strengthen local reliability in the face of current challenges while continuing progress toward Austin’s clean energy goals.
In April 2026, Austin Energy hosted a series of Energy Reliability Workshops across Austin. These workshops provided an overview of how Austin Energy is implementing the 2035 Plan, discussed locations of potential energy resource and generation options across Austin, and invited residents to share what matters most you and your community.
Although our in-person workshops have concluded a virtual recording is available and you can download copies of the materials along with Frequently Asked Questions. We invite you and your neighbors to review these materials and provide your feedback below!

Resource Generation Plan Survey Results
In August 2023, Austin Energy invited customers to provide feedback on energy generation options and priorities. Thank you to all who participated in Austin Energy’s Resource Generation Plan Survey. The summary of results is presented below and a full list of comments received is available here.
