2022 Green Dot Updates
2022 Green Dot Updates
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) and Department of Natural Resources (DNR) invite public comments on updates and proposed changes to the Green Dot Road System in Central Washington. Marked with a round green reflector on a white route marker, these roads provide access to camping, hunting, wildlife viewing, and off-road vehicle (ORV) riding, while protecting sensitive habitat from damage caused by motorized vehicles.
To download full Green Dot maps, visit WDFW's website.
Individuals who need to receive this information in an alternative format, language, or who need reasonable accommodations to participate in WDFW-sponsored public meetings or other activities may contact the Title VI/ADA Compliance Coordinator by phone at 360-902-2349, TTY (711), or email (Title6@dfw.wa.gov). Ahtanum Road Management Area (Yakima County)
DNR will install seasonal gates on the Middle Fork Road (A2000) near the 3.5 mile marker (known as the “upper sno-park”) and near Tree Phones Campground. These seasonal gates will allow land managers to open the lower portion of the Middle Fork Road earlier in the late winter/early spring, while also protecting the road from damage during shoulder seasons. Land managers will also be able to close the upper portion of the Middle Fork Road earlier in the winter to provide parking for snowmobiles closer to the snow line.
DNR will also install a gate at the back of Red Saddle Trailhead on the road heading up and over Red Saddle (A2400). This gate will help protect the road during shoulder seasons leading into and out of snowmobile grooming season.
Hatton Road is not a Green Dot Road through the private parcel, so this is an administrative update to remove the Green Dot designation from the map to match what is allowed.
