Public Open House for I-35 Corridor Improvements from Franklin Road in Norman to SW 19th Street in Moore, Cleveland County
Public Open House
The purpose of this Open House is to inform the public about the planned improvements, hear your thoughts, and provide answers about the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) I-35 frontage and ramp improvements in conjunction with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) Toby Keith Expressway (formerly East-West Connector) at I-35 project. During the Open House, ODOT and OTA will share details and answer questions on their projects. The Open House will be a come and go format. There will not be a formal presentation.
Project Description
The I-35 Corridor Improvements are proposed to implement the ODOT I-35 Corridor Traffic Study, improve safety and efficiency, and connect to the new Toby Keith Expressway. Improvements to the overall I-35 corridor include:
• Convert the existing frontage roads from two-way to one-way.
• Move and adapt I-35 ramps to improve efficiency.
• Connect the Toby Keith Expressway Corridor to the I-35 Corridor.
• Add turnarounds at Indian Hills Road and SW 19th Street.
These improvements are being made as a joint partnership between ODOT and OTA and are two, tied projects. ODOT is leading the project of corridor improvements to frontage roads and ramps from SW 34th Street to SW 19th Street in Moore. This project segment is called I-35 Frontage Road Operational Improvements, JP 35235(04). OTA is leading the proposed development of the Toby Keith Expressway and associated I-35 improvements from Franklin Road in Norman to SW 34th Street in Moore, JP 37100(07).
I-35 will stay open with two lanes each direction during construction and occasional nighttime closures. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained.
The detailed project map that will be displayed at the Open House, showing both the ODOT and OTA projects, is available for download under the Downloads tab or click here to view the map in this window.
