In 2014, Grand Rapids voters established the Vital Streets fund. This fund dedicates its focus to improving our street conditions. The Leffingwell Avenue and Bradford Street project is funded by Vital Streets. Construction is expected to start on April 27 and last until October.
About the project
Leffingwell Avenue (Bradford to south of Leonard) and Bradford Street (Leffingwell to East Beltline)
Construction is expected to start on April 27, 2026.
This is a reconstruction project. Contractors will replace the road and upgrade what is listed below:
- Place a new water main.
- Reconstruct the street, including installing new curb and gutter.
- Install a 10-foot shared use pathway on the west and south side of the streets.
