In 2014, Grand Rapids voters established the Vital Streets fund. This fund dedicates its focus to improving our street conditions. The Burton Street project from Giddings to Plymouth is funded by Vital Streets. This project is expected to begin in 2027.

Construction is expected to start in 2027.
This is a resurfacing project. Contractors will replace the road and upgrade what is listed below:
- Driveway approaches and sidewalks
- Parkways and street trees
- Storm sewer
