This is a city-initiated request to amend Section 8: Parks, Recreation, and Open Space contained in the 2030 Comprehensive Plan. It would incorporate changes pursuant to the goals and recommendations of the Capital Area Greenway Master Plan adopted by City Council in 2022. Proposed changes would update existing policy language; add new policies and actions; and change Map PR-3: Greenways and Open Space.
Affected Subsection: Planning for Parks (Sec. 8.1)
The request would update one (1) action.
Affected Subsection: Greenway System Land and Trails (Sec. 8.3)
The request would update seven (7) existing policies and add ten (10) new policies.
The request would update nine (9) existing actions and add two (2) new actions.
Affected Subsection: Open Space and Special Landscapes (Sec. 8.5)
The request would update two (2) actions.
Affected Map: Greenway Corridors and Connectors (Map PR-3)
The request would replace this map with two (2) new maps: one dedicated to Greenway trails and another dedicated to Open Space Corridors.
