Adams Street Reconstruction

Adams Street Reconstruction

In 2014, Grand Rapids voters established the Vital Streets fund. This fund dedicates its focus to improving our street conditions. The Adams Street project is funded by Vital Streets. Construction is expected to happen in 2026.

About the project

Adams Street (Colorado and Gladstone)

Construction is expected to start in 2026

This is a reconstruction project. Contractors will replace the road and upgrade what is listed below:

  • Place a new water main.
  • Remove the existing road surface and pave a new layer of asphalt, including:
    • Moving curbs at the NE corners of Philadelphia/Adams and Sylvan/Adams intersection to narrow the intersection and shorten the pedestrian crossings.
  • Upgrade sidewalks and ramps to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
  • Replace some driveway approaches.
