South Prong Clarke Creek Greenway
South Prong Clarke Creek Greenway
Welcome to the South Prong Clarke Creek Creek Greenway public input webpage.
South Prong Clarke Creek Greenway will be approximately two miles in length extending from Huntersville-Concord Highway to Monocacy Boulevard. It will pass through and serve the Vermillion, Vermillion Front, Vermillion Village and Mirabella subdivisions. The greenway will be accessible to developments both north and south of the creek. The greenway project is selected for funding and is in design.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services will be facilitating restoration efforts on this reach of South Prong Clarke Creek. This project aims to stabilize elements of the creek as well as reduce the amount of sediment pollution impacting the creek. Sediment is the number one pollutant found in Mecklenburg County's waterways.
Design has been initiated for both South Prong Clarke Creek Greenway and the South Prong Clarke Creek Restoration project. A public information session hosted by Mecklenburg County for both greenway and stream restoration projects is anticipated for Fall 2026. Once that date is available, it will be posted on this project site.
A separate web page for the restoration project is not currently available. This web page will be updated with that resource once it becomes available.
Additional information regarding the South Prong Clarke Creek Greenway project is below, as well as an opportunity for your input. We encourage you to provide input and stay connected with us during this project!
