Project Description: Construct a vessel to replace the aging M/V Matanuska as a "Mainliner" ferry operating in Southeast Alaska with connections to Washington State and British Columbia. The new vessel will continue, and enhance, the currently provided transportation for passengers, vehicles, and freight essential to the region's residents, businesses, and visitors. This project receives 80% of its funding from the Federal Transit Administration's Ferry Service for Rural Communities Program, covering the federal share. It is entirely funded through federal funds, utilizing Toll Credits to meet the match requirement.
