About the Climate Action Plan

Here in South Carolina, people can feel the weather changing. Summers are getting hotter, storms are getting stronger, and flooding is happening more often. These changes are putting our communities at risk - making it harder to stay safe and protect our homes, our families, and our way of life.
Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties are stronger when we work together. That’s why the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments (BCDCOG) is putting together a Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP) that will help us respond effectively and make our whole region more resilient.
This Plan is about protecting what we all care about—our health, our homes, and our future. By cutting fossil fuel pollution through better transportation options, healthier homes and buildings, and smarter energy use, we can lower bills, protect our health, and reduce harmful waste.
This project is funded through an EPA Climate Pollution Reduction Grant. The BCDCOG is working together with Sustainability Solutions Group and Community Solutions to develop the plan.
Next Steps
Currently, we are in the final phase of the CCAP with drafting the report and the creation of the tool kit. Sign up to stay informed on when to look out for when those become available to the public.
